H&M has arrived in Savannah! While I was in Sweden last March, you could find a H&M store front on every corner of the city of Stockholm. Not only is H&M opening in downtown Savannah, but there is a store opening at the outlets five minutes down the street from me!
I am loving their new arrivals and did some virtual window shopping. I am hoping these items will be in the store when I visit over the weekend! Loving the boho vibe and fun prints!
Levi turned 1/2 a year old on May 9th! We have reached some big milestones recently. Last weekend he was very restless at night and gave the daycare workers a fuss on Monday and Tuesday. Turns out Levi's first tooth broke through the gums! I was expecting loads of drool prior so I didn't think he was ready but in a matter of two days from when I checked his gums last, out popped a tooth!
We have begun buying some 9 months clothes because even a few of his 6 months clothes are getting snug! He is still in size 3 diapers. He has been embracing baby food for the most part. Some new flavors we have introduced is peas, sweet potatoes, apples and pears. He is still nursing and still drinks 3 oz. a feeding.
He can sit up for a good bit before either toppling frontward or getting super excited and thrusting back. We have to watch him but he's a lot more sturdy.
He's also pretty vocal these days. He squeals when he is excited and it's so funny.
We went to the pool for the first time and he didn't like the water too much because it was a bit chilly the day we went. But we went again yesterday and he had a ball!
Not sure if he's gained in weight or height since he had his last check up but I suspect he has. We will have to see at his 6 month appointment next week.
He continues to be the happiest and easy going baby. We love him to pieces!
Happy Friday, guys! I'm rounding up items I've been eyeing recently! I need a new foundation and I'm also loving this donut beach towel! You know I can't get enough of donuts! Hope you have fun plans for the weekend! Cheers!
I keep seeing posts, commercials, and photos for mother's day coming up this Sunday and it's making me so sad. My mom has been gone two years now and as much as days have been easier, there are still moments when missing her hits me hard.
My niece is graduating college this weekend so my aunt from Virginia came to visit. My other aunt lives in Savannah so I went over with the kids last weekend. My mom always loved getting a chance to hang out with her sisters. Something felt so void when I was over there. I miss them sitting in the kitchen going on about Lord knows what and laughing, eating and cooking.
Ava and Lily still talk about grandma and I make sure to remind them we are visiting "grandma's sister" so they remember my mom.
I told Ava last night how much I missed grandma and wished I could spend Mother's Day with her. She looked at me with her innocent eyes and said, "let's bring her some flowers and we can spend time with her". My sweet girl.
We often take our moms for granted. Like they will always be there. I never would have imagined I would lose my mom as soon as I did.
So hug your moms tight. Tell them you love them. I know I wish I still could.
I have been wanting to host an Instagram meet-up in my home town city for awhile now. Two years ago I started small and invited local Savannah IG'ers to meet-up for brunch. It was great because I got to meet my now, Instagram bestie and fellow blogger, Megan (of Being Mrs. Fowler).
We have remained close since the brunch often meeting up for coffee dates and we have been so supportive of each other in helping to build up our blogs. We have even more in common now since sharing our pregnancy journeys and having two adorable babies!
During one of our many coffee dates we threw around the idea of hosting an IG meet-up here in Savannah. Savannah is the hostess city of the south after all and we think it would be a great place for us gals to gather. To make the meet-up worth the travel, we are working really hard to make the weekend special.
First, we want everyone interested to mark their calendars for the weekend of July 22nd-24th!
We have reached out to our local vendors and we are so excited to say we have had great success so far for putting together door prizes, swag bags and more! We can't wait to share with you all what we have in store!
The tentative schedule is as follows:
Friday, July 22nd: Welcoming Event at Kendra Scott Savannah to include sips and sweets and door prizes!
Saturday, July 23rd: Day at Tybee Island Beach, explore historic downtown/shopping and possible social activity in the evening
Sunday, July 24th: Brunch at Soho South Café and departure
Even if you can only make one day, we hope you all can take part in our first ever Savannah Instagram meet-up. Please send either of us an email or comment below with your email address and we will keep you in the loop with hotel accommodations and other event details.
