Busy Bees

Noah's mom came in town this past weekend and she'll be here for at least two weeks. Luckily we get along great so it's not one of those "kill me now" type situations. She is watching Ava for us during the day and is soaking up every moment. I'm happy Mimi gets to spend this time with Ava.

Tomorrow Patty and I are getting haircuts. I love getting my hair done. I don't want to cut my hair short this time. This is what I am thinking. I'm nervous though because I haven't tried this hair stylist yet. But I need a haircut badly. So I'll post pics of the after shots later. Hope it's not a disaster.

Tomorrow is Noah's birthday. He is turning 26 yrs. old. He's not much for celebrating but we are going to dinner at least. I know he's so happy that his family can be here with him this weekend!

Noah's brother is coming down to visit with his boyfriend, Justin, on Friday. It's going to be a very busy weekend for us. We'll probably head to the beach (well they may head to the beach, it may be too much for miss Ava), go downtown, the whole nine yards to show them around Savannah. It'll be First Saturday downtown so that will be fun.

And for the Fourth, my dad's side of the family is getting together for a family reunion. Ugh. The weekend will not be long enough, even with the extra day off work. I'm going to be utterly exhausted. But I am excited for Jeremiah to meet his niece, eating yummy food all weekend, dressing Ava up in her little 4th of July outfit, and hanging out with family.

Until next time, I'll leave you with my sweet girl.

One Down

So last week was the 1st week of So You Think You Can Dance and I pointed out my early favorites.

Already one of my favorites was eliminated. Alexie did a hip hop number and it was alright. I wasn't blown away so I could see why she was cut. But I hope this isn't a sign of what's to come. I hope my other favorites perform great tonight.

Kent did a cha cha number and I think he did a good job with it. He's just so stinkin' cute I think his cute factor wins him a lot of votes.

Lauren did a pop jazz routine and the judges weren't that impressed. I hope she does better this week because I really like her.

T-minus 30 minutes until the show comes on :)

GOOOAAAALLLL!

Yay for USA! We advance to the next round in the World Cup! Noah has been so excited for this year's World Cup so it's made me enthusiastic too. We should have won the last game against Slovenia if the stupid referee wouldn't have ruined it for us. But oh sweet redemption today. USA played Algeria and we had to win. And just when I thought we wouldn't make it, in the last 3 1/2 minutes, Landon Donovan scored!!!! Woohoo! A happy Noah makes for a happy home :)

Happy Father's Day 2010

Happy 1st Father's Day to Noah
Noah hasn't been at this role as a dad for long, but he's been amazing so far. He absolutely adores Ava and she adores him. Everytime she hears his voice she gives him the biggest smile. I know they will have a special relationship always. I appreciate all he does to help with Ava. We are blessed to have him in our lives.

So I Wish I Could Dance

One of my guilty pleasures on TV during the summer is on tonight. I've watched So You Think You Can Dance since it started airing seven seasons ago. I guess I live vicariously through the contestants because I wish I could dance like that. Plus, I love the choreographers on the show. If only I would have gotten into dance when I was younger. I would have an amazing body right now (as opposed to the post baby body I currently have :( ) Hopefully Ava will take to some form of dance when she's old enough. I know Noah will want her active in sports but maybe I'll get a super girly girl that likes to sing and dance like her momma :)

Anyway, back to the show. This year they are changing the competition up. Usually there are twenty new contestants that compete to be America's favorite dancer but this year there are only ten newbies. There are bringing back ten "all star" dancers (former favorites on previous seasons) to be partnered up with the newbies. Last week was just a fun show debuting the contestants. This week starts the competition.

Some of my early favorites (in case anyone cares):

Kent Boyd
Lauren Froderman
Alexie Agdeppa

They are all mainly contemporary dancers but they all have cute personalities and have amazing talent.

My Life Today

Just came inside from watching Noah teach our nephew Alex some soccer techniques. I could watch him all day with the kids. He's so good with them. When we went to our pool the other day he was playing in the water with our niece Camille and Kiara. All the kids I've ever seen around Noah have always loved him. I know Ava is one lucky girl to have Noah as her dad. He's going to play such an active role in her life and it makes me so happy to know that. We are going to celebrate his first father's day this month. Ava and I need to go shopping for his present either tomorrow or next Saturday. I think I know exactly what he'd like.

Noah is really into soccer and he has been getting excited about the World Cup. Today England and USA played and we watched it with some friends. We are about to go out for some adult time fun in alittle while. Ava is with her grandparents (my mom and dad). It's so nice to know they are down the street from us and I don't have to worry about her being with just anybody. I haven't been out very much since Ava has been born. And on the occasions I do go out I feel too guilty to drink too much. I probably won't even drink that much tonight either. Right now its hard because I know I'll have to get up with her at least once in the night to feed her so getting tipsy is not really an option for me right now. But it is nice to just get out for some adult conversations. I've been having some interesting conversations with Ava lately. She's been so verbal and alert these days. It's the cutest thing. She's already twelve weeks old. I know I have to cherish all these fun moments with her because she's just growing so fast. Soon she'll be talking and walking around getting into things.

Anyways, I'm babbling so I'll just save the rest for the next post. I'll update this post with the pictures I took from today when I get home.

ok, pics like I promised...

Nerd Alert!

I was watching the MTV movie awards last night. I like to watch for the performances and for the chance that something interesting might happen since it's live. It should have been called the Twilight awards because the saga swept all the awards. I am a huge fan of the books but the movies and all this hype has been a bit ridiculous. And I'm a little tired of the whole awkward Kristen Stewart thing. BUT I was pleasantly surprised when they announced they would premiere the new Harry Potter trailer!!!! I'm so distraught these movies are coming to an end. This last installment of the book is going to be divided into two movies. I expect it to be just as wonderful as all the other movies. I can't wait until November 19th!! Guess I need to read the book to get set for the release. It's my little ritual. I know. I'm a nerd.
