Spring 2014 Essentials

Spring is around the corner and with the weather in Savannah being so nice lately I feel like its already here. Today I'm sharing with you guys what my spring essentials are for this upcoming season!

1. Pastels are the perfect spring accent. The Deborah Lippman Spring Reveries Nail Collection is perfect and has your manicures covered for the whole season! I want all the colors! This one is called "Flowers In Her Hair - magnificient mint medley crème"

2. I find myself doing more things outdoors in the spring. The weather is glorious, not too hot, not too cool, so a nice pair of sunnies is a must. I love these cat-eye tortoise shades from TOMS

3. Light knit tops are a must for this season. The fabric is so light and comfy! Gap has this top is assorted spring-y colors!

4. I like using bronzer in the spring and summer seasons. It adds a great color and glow to your face! This one from Smashbox is perfect!

5. I am loving all the pink lips lately. It makes just as much of a statement as a great necklace. I am not sure if I can pull it off, but maybe I'll try this one. It is from Maybelline. It gives your lips a soft, translucent gel-color without the heavy waxes and oils as you typically find in traditional lipsticks.

6. Strappy sandals are a must this spring. I especially love wedges because they are comfortable and stylish. Nude or cognac are the perfect color because they can be worn with virtually anything. I love that you can wear these sandals with jeans, shorts, or a fun dress. These are from Lulu's. They have other great choices as well!

7. Statement earrings are the latest trend. I just ordered a couple pairs from Forever 21 but these from Bauble Bar are gorgeous! I love the pastel colors in this pair too!

8. I have never owned a pair of light wash jeans before but I really liking them lately. I even found a cute pair from Target today! These are Mossimo from Target and they fit great. Super stretchy and a great wash! I like the lighter wash for spring.

9. When I think of spring I think of flowers. This adorable iPhone case from Forever 21 has you covered for the whole season!

10.  I love all the bright colors in all the handbags I've been seeing lately, but I think one essential bag for the spring is this nude tote from Old Navy. I love the tassel detail and it will go with anything!

So there you have it, my list of essentials for this upcoming spring. What are your must haves??

What I Wore Wednesday {wiww}

Welcome to another wiww post. It's amazing how much more effort you put into getting dressed when you snap daily pics of yourself. But I find it so motivating too! It boosts my confidence and I'm constantly being inspired by other ladies that do the exact same thing.

So the pics below are a combination of this week and last week. Last week was Valentine's Day week so you'll see lots of pink!

I loved how this outfit came together. I mean these shoes! I let them inspire the rest of the look. The glitter and bows won me over immediately.

So I think this brooch took this plain outfit to another level. It makes me happy. It was a recent DIY project and I was excited about how it turned out!

Surprise, more pink! Even in my nails :) I thought this was the best week to be obnoxious about my love for this color!

This outfit was one of my favorites of last week. I love this donut shirt!! I paired it with mint skinnies and my favorite tennis shoes! So fun!

I found this skirt just by chance walking around JcPenny and I am so glad I did! I love the neutral with neon! And the pleats are perfect! Love it!

You Had Me at Polka Dots...

This look from Danielle of Shop Dandy is just so adorable.

I especially love the top. After finding out it was from the kids' section at Target I had to go on the hunt. I was thrilled to find it last weekend for $8! I love the brooch she added was the like the icing on the cake. So cute.

I paired the shirt with jeans and pink tennis shoes. This whole outfit makes me happy. You can never go wrong with polka dots or glitter! Of course I added accessories to complete the look!

In the same section I found the shirt, I found this pink headband. I don't wear head bands but I thought I could turn this pink flower into a brooch. It turned out great. I even wore it to spruce up my sweater below!

DIY Tassel Garland

I have been trying to decorate my little office nook in my bedroom and I thought a colorful tassel garland would make a great addition. It did not disappoint.

I have seen these tassel garlands become more and more popular and who knew they were so easy to make? I used this very easy tutorial over at Linen, Lace & Love blog. Jen and Jess could not have made it any simpler with their step by step instructions with photos!

Here is my end result. What do you think?

Supplies Needed:
Assorted Tissue Paper (1 sheet makes 4 tassels!)
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Stick
Scissors
String

This project was not only cheap, but it was easy and didn't take too long (approximately 30-45 minutes)! Now, go get your own tasselin' on!

Marshall's Love

I was recently notified by Marshall's I won the Instagram #fabfound photo contest. This is an easy contest, you just post of picture of your fab founds at Marshall's. I was so excited to win because who wouldn't want to win a $50 gift card for shopping at my favorite store!?

So anyway, I thought with Valentine's Day coming up next week I would treat myself with some goodies to celebrate! Here are my finds!

First, is this very feminine and sexy duo. I love the blush color and lace. But what I love more is the amazing price I bought them for. The bra was $6.99 and the panties were $1.99! My kind of price!

My next find is probably my favorite! I mean how cute are these flats! I was wandering the clearance section and I rarely find cute clearance shoes in my size but this was like fate. Not only was there only one pair of these shoes, but it was in my size!! It was like a triple threat! I love the bow detail and the color! This was an easy choice! Now, bring on spring!

This last find was so perfect and festive! I needed a new make-up bag and I couldn't resist the fabulous Betsy Johnson. I love the quilted heart pattern and gold hardware! This is the perfect size for my cosmetics and the price is also nice, $12.99!

I love shopping at Marshall's because you never what you are going to find, but you are always bound to find something you love and for a great price! It is such a great feeling knowing you don't have to spend tons of money to look and feel great!

I was so happy when they featured my pic on their IG feed!

Pinspired: DIY Glitter Hanger

I saw this cute Pin browsing on Pinterest and fell in love. Glitter and gold? sign me up! It's the perfect way to display a beautiful print and would go great in my office space. I clicked and it sent me to an awesome tutorial by Sarah!  The tutorial calls for glitter paper. I didn't have any handy, so I used spray adhesive and glitter, what I did have on hand.

Supplies Needed:
trouser hanger
spray adhesive
glitter
metallic spray paint

1. I bought a 2-pk of the trouser hangers. I laid a trash bag down, but you may want to lay it on a cardboard or thick piece of paper to avoid the paint sticking to the plastic (a mistake I made lol!)

2. Next, I used metallic gold spray paint to cover the entire hanger. I let it dry and sprayed the other side.

 3.  The next step was to add the glitter. I used the spray adhesive as instructed and then sprinkled the glitter on one side of each of the hangers.

4. I shook off the excess glitter and let the glitter dry.

The finished product!

I loved how they turned out. I plan to hang them in my office nook and display some of my favorite pictures/prints!
