First Savannah Instagram Meet-Up

I have been wanting to host an Instagram meet-up in my home town city for awhile now. Two years ago I started small and invited local Savannah IG'ers to meet-up for brunch. It was great because I got to meet my now, Instagram bestie and fellow blogger, Megan (of Being Mrs. Fowler).

We have remained close since the brunch often meeting up for coffee dates and we have been so supportive of each other in helping to build up our blogs. We have even more in common now since sharing our pregnancy journeys and having two adorable babies!

During one of our many coffee dates we threw around the idea of hosting an IG meet-up here in Savannah. Savannah is the hostess city of the south after all and we think it would be a great place for us gals to gather. To make the meet-up worth the travel, we are working really hard to make the weekend special.

First, we want everyone interested to mark their calendars for the weekend of July 22nd-24th!

We have reached out to our local vendors and we are so excited to say we have had great success so far for putting together door prizes, swag bags and more! We can't wait to share with you all what we have in store!

The tentative schedule is as follows:

Friday, July 22nd: Welcoming Event at Kendra Scott Savannah to include sips and sweets and door prizes!

Saturday, July 23rd: Day at Tybee Island Beach, explore historic downtown/shopping and possible social activity in the evening

Sunday, July 24th: Brunch at Soho South Café and departure

Even if you can only make one day, we hope you all can take part in our first ever Savannah Instagram meet-up. Please send either of us an email or comment below with your email address and we will keep you in the loop with hotel accommodations and other event details.

Follow along on our Instagram accounts ( @glitterandjuls and @beingmrsfowler) too, for all the details, as we have them to share!

Kendra Scott Savannah Grand Opening

The fabulous ladies of Kendra Scott sure know how to celebrate the launch of their Savannah store downtown on Broughton Street! Thursday night I was able to attend their grand opening event complete with sips and sweets catered by B Local catering, Chocolat by Adam Turoni, De Colores Cookies y Mas, and Marche de Macarons!

Megan from Being Mrs. Fowler (@beingmrsfowler) and I enjoyed a girl's night out looking at all the pretty jewelry and tasting the delicious food and drinks.

The store was beautiful and the KS ladies were so very helpful. If you have not checked out a Kendra Scott store you need to because the Color Bar is amazing. You can customize your own special piece of jewelry, such a cool experience!

How cool are these truffles made to look like pearls? Gorgeous and yummy!

My favorite treats from Marche de Macarons!

I customized a pair of Elle earrings in rose gold metal with rose quartz stones. The result was gorgeous. See how I style them by following along my Instagram at @glitterandjuls

We finished the night by taking selfies outside in the photo booth.

Shop our Shabby Apple dresses (Yellow Arrow Dotted Dress and Nutcracker Dress in Pink)

Overall, I think the event was a success! The turn-out for the night was fantastic. Kendra Scott fits perfectly in the row of stores downtown Savannah! I'm so happy Kendra chose our city and I'm excited to continue the relationship we've created with the fabulous staff.

Not Your Average Bridal Show

Wedding season is fast approaching and I've already received save-the-dates for five! It's an exciting time because I get to witness some awesome couples tie the knot!

Even though I am no longer a bride-to-be, I enjoy all things weddings. I love seeing every little detail  put into one special day!

I was very excited when I was invited to attend a bridal show like no other... A bridal show alternative in the form of a Big Fake Wedding-- complete with a ceremony and a reception! "Wedding guests" get to experience tons of wedding vendors in action.

The fake wedding I'll be attending is on Thursday, March 5th at the Georgia State Railroad Museum in Savannah. What a fun venue!

I love this idea. Not only does it make planning a wedding fun, but it really pumps you up for what your special day will be! My favorite part about the big fake wedding is they ask real married couples to be the fake brides and grooms. How cool is that? The whole evening is filled with love, fun, and laughter.

I can't wait to take my friends, Mandy and Hannah, who both have weddings coming up later this year!

Are you a bride-to-be or know of any? Tickets are on sale now! Use code, "HalfOffTheBFW", for 50% off-- making tickets $15! Get tickets for The Big Fake Wedding Savannah here!

Even better, want to win a pair of free tickets to the show? Winner will be announced on Wednesday, February 25th and will receive the golden tickets via email. ** At least one of the guests must be a bride or a groom**

To enter:

3) comment below with your email address

My Starbucks cup made a fun debut :) Isn't she lovely? Oh, and I'm on my phone, shocker!

Oh, I'm taking a selfie, another shocker! hahaha!

*Thanks so much for the Red Clover team for being so awesome! I had a great time :)

Oliver Twist Pants: Look 1

This week I had some fun with Red Clover styling a pair of one their new arrivals, the Oliver Twist Pants.
I don't own a pair of olive bottoms so it was a fun trying to pick out different looks! These pants are the perfect fall color and pairs nicely with other deep hues like mustard and cranberry. For the next three days I'll show you a few different looks I came up with!

Red Clover has a local store front in downtown Savannah but they also have an online boutique that ships  worldwide. I love that I can find all different styles, from classic, bohemian, to edgy and modern.

I spent some time in the store and there's so much to love. The Red Clover team were very friendly and were nice enough to let me take over one of their dressing rooms.

Look 1:
For this first look, I paired these pants with a mustard sweater and a faux fur vest. I wore it with taupe wedge booties.

Oliver Twist Pants: Look 2

Hi there! I'm back styling Red Clover's Oliver Twist Pants again! This time I added riding boots and a graphic sweater! I love this look. I like the way the pants billow out a bit so its not so fitted in the boots. Makes me feel like I need to be horse back riding!

Sweater: Forever 21
Boots: Franco Sarto via Rack Room Shoes
Necklace: Mindy Mae's Market
Handbag: Windsor

Weekend Recap: Phillip Phillips and Bffsgiving 2014

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! I had quite a weekend. It was so much fun!
Saturday I was up early with my friend Hannah to go see Phillip Phillips perform in Forsyth Park. We got there super early and managed to grab a front row spot. The Rock N' Roll Marathon hosted the event and Phil Phillips was playing for free.  It was the first time seeing him live. We had a great time and he put on an awesome show! After the concert, Hannah and I met up with the guys and kids for lunch. We walked around downtown Savannah and later had dinner over at Hannah and Adam's (Noah's cousin) new place.

On Sunday, all of my besties got together to celebrate our first Bffsgiving. We have been friends since elementary and middle school and have managed to stay super close. We all have separate lives and families and it's so nice to be able to get everyone together. It's fun to have all the kids together too. I hope they grow up to be close like us!

Justin, Amy, and Teddy. I have known Amy since 5th grade :)

Cassie and Thomas. I met Cassie in 6th grade and we got pregnant with our first babies together.

Micah and Lauren. I met Lauren in 7th grade.

Heather and Mark. Heather and I have been friends since elementary school

Here is my oldest friend (since second grade) and she was my maid of honor at my wedding, Mandy. Daniel couldn't make it but I'm a pretty good stand-in for couple pics :)
