Pinspired: DIY Heart Shirt

I've been wanting just a simple tee with a heart on it. I love the one from J crew (1st pic). I saw these on Pinterest and knew it wouldn't be hard to just do it myself.

Supplies:

1. T-shirt. I bought two. One in red (I wanted the heart to be the same material) and one in white.
2. Fabric scissors
3. Pen
4. Heat bond
5. Cut out of a heart. I free-handed it on an old magazine but you could print one out if you want.

FYI: I had to buy heat bond paper rather than the strips above because it was too hard to bond the edges of the heart shape with the strips. Lesson learned.

Directions:

I traced the cut-out onto the red fabric.

Next, I cut the fabric.

Just follow the directions on the heat bond package, really... And voila!

I'm really happy with it! Cute huh?
I'll have to make a sweater version come fall!

Even cuter with my little model :)

I'm wearing my new project with my cobalt blue jeans for the 4th of July festivities today.

Speaking of 4th of July... I made trifle and it's pretty festive.

Can't wait to dig in!

We are spending our independence day with our family poolside with all kinds of good eats! Hope everyone has a fun, but safe holiday!!!
