Sleep Diaries

Ok, last night was a little rough. The good news? Ava has been sleeping in her crib for a good month now. The bad news? She is still not sleeping through the night. For the past few weeks when she wakes up she will flip over on her stomach and she buries her head in the corner of the crib. My OCD self can't handle seeing this on the baby monitor so I get up every time to turn her over and get her back to sleep. People I have talked to said I should let her flips and see if she'll go back to sleep. This makes me super nervous.

I'll try it tonight but i am already feeling anxious about it. But I'm going to have to relax at some point and let Ava put herself back to sleep on her own.

And if I can't do it I know this part won't last for too long because eventually she will sleep through the night and we can all sleep peacefully.

If you are one of the lucky moms that have kids that sleep through the night consider yourself VERY lucky and that I envy you like crazy and kind of hate you a little. Well hate is a strong word and I don't really mean it....

  1. This is my biggest fear about having a baby because I turn into that girl from the Exorcist if I don't get a full 8 hours (turning head and all)..good luck with everything! Can't wait to see you guys! x

  2. Hey girl! OMG, ever since his 4 mos shot it has been a nightmare. He used to sleep throught the night from 830-6am but ever since the shot, it is HORRIBLE. he got a cold toppe with teething topped with 4/5 mos growth spurt says the doctor. for some reason they are most irritable and WILL NOT sleeo through. they say it last 3days to 2 weeks. shoot me now. sunday we woke up every 50 minutes! last night i tried to let him cry for 10 minutes before i picked him up each time, it was horrible. but last night he got better, just 3 times. good luck, i'll be praying for you and all other mommies ;) ps- the doc told me if they flip on their own you can leave them to sleep on their tummies. so long as you dont flip them over

  3. Deena, the past three nights have been miserable for me. She wakes every hour almost. I think she may have gas and that is what's waking her up bc once she passes she falls back to sleep fine. And about the flipping. It would be fine if she flipped and was asleep but she wakes herself up and starts fussing. I hope it doesn't last too much longer, I'm already running on fumes. But it's comforting to know I'm not the only one. Hope it gets better for you!

  4. And heather-- yeah say good-bye to sleep once you have a baby. I don't remember the last time I had a good 8 hours of sleep. And I'm told sleeping in is non-existent too til they are teenagers! But I do love being a mommy. It's all worth it.
