5 Quick Hair Care Tips

Summer is coming to an end and with a new season brings on different elements and an opportunity to switch up your hair care routine. Today, I'm sharing 5 quick hair care tips so your hair can live it's best life!

After getting a fresh new do at Hustle & Blow Dry Bar I am feeling like a whole new person! It's amazing what a new hair cut will do for your confidence and attitude! If you need to switch up your hair routine give these super easy tips a try!

1) Get a Trim

You don't always have to cut all your hair off to feel fresh! The easiest way to great hair is trimming off those dead ends! I recently got treated to an afternoon of hair pampering courtesy of the team at Hustle & Blow Dry Bar and it felt amazing to get 2-3 inches cut off my hair. My hair felt instantly healthier and lighter! I am such a procrastinator when it comes to getting my hair cut. I am managing 4 crazy kids and I often neglect myself when it comes to hair care. Don't be like me! I recommend getting a trim every 8-12 weeks. It's totally worth it! Time for me to take my own advice!

2) Find the Right Cut

Don't get a cut you cannot manage yourself at home. If the cut demands lots of work and you only have 10-15 minutes like me, its not the right cut or hair style for you. I need something super low-maintenance and Hannah did a great job by giving me a cut that I can wear curled or straight.

3) Try New Styling Products

I love trying out new products on my hair. From time to time it's great to switch it up. In the summer I like to use products that give me that perfectly tousled, piece-y and beach-y texture. In the fall I like to add serums that give my hair the extra protection from breakage. Primers are also a new favorite of mine to spray on damp hair to help with detangling, conditioning and it also preps my hair for styling. I have been using the Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer and I love it. It simplifies my styling routine with 10 great hair benefits in one miracle potion.

4) Invest in Good Shampoo & Conditioner

You want to find shampoos and conditioners that don't have a ton of extra chemicals that will strip your hair from its natural oils. I've been using Love Beauty and Planet lately. It smells so good and its aluminum-free, cruelty-free, dye-free, paraben-free and vegan. I'm also a sucker for its pretty packaging too! I found it at Wal-Mart but I've also seen it at Target too. It doesn't have to cost a lot of money either. I spent $7!

5) Don't Wash Your Hair Every Day

This has been a tough one for me. I have super fine and oily hair. I also touch my hair a lot. But the pros say washing your hair daily can strip your hair from the your natural oils and dry out your strands. Instead, it is recommended to wash your hair at most three times a week. Utilize dry shampoo for those days in between. My favorite budget-friendly dry shampoo is from Dove. I also like to use Eva NYC Forget Me Knot Dry Conditioner. Using dry conditioner will keep your hair shiny, soft and refreshed without water.
