22 Weeks

Well I guess the weekly pictures are stopping and we are heading into monthly pictures. This is weeks 21-24: papayas.
Noah and I have decided on a first name for our baby girl. We are going to name her Ava. We are still thinking on what we want her middle name to be though. I have been feeling very pregnant lately. My tummy is popping out and I can really feel the baby kicking more and more.

How far along? 22 weeks, 4 days

Total weight gain/loss: 12 lbs! I weighed myself right after Thanksgiving so that might not have been a good idea. I go back to the doctor this Friday so we'll see what the scale says. So far I've been gaining at a good pace, but it's starting to depress me how BIG i am getting. But I just have to remind myself that 1) it's in the best interest of Ava and 2) I can lose it. (hopefully)

Stretch marks? according to babycenter.com if I may begin to see them around this time. yikes! I hope not.

Sleep: I've been sleeping okay so far but I definitely feel a difference in pre-pregnancy sleep and pregnancy sleep. My back aches sometimes.

Best moment this week: It will be on Friday when I get to hear Ava's heartbeat.

Movement: Feeling lots these days and it's still an amazing feeling each time.

Food cravings: my recent craving was krispy kreme doughnuts. Yummy HOT doughnuts!

What I miss: feeling attractive. I love being pregnant but there are those I feel huge moments and I've had those moments recently.

What I’m looking forward to: making it to 24 weeks will put my mind at ease a little. should anything happen, that will be the marker for viability.

Here's a belly shot from Thanksgiving weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving I had alot to be thankful for. I have been so so blessed to be surrounded by my family and friends always, to be loved by my hubby, to be lucky enough to carry baby Ava this far, and to be able to buy a house :)

Usually, we visit Noah's family for Thanksgiving but since we just closed on our house we decided to stay put this year. We had Thanksgiving lunch/dinner at Michael 's (my brother-in-law) parents' house with all the fixings: turkey, sweet poitato casserole, collard greens, mash potatoes, butter beans, and stuffing! It was simply delicious!

Here are some pictures I took yesterday. And Ummm... this is the first time since being pregnant that I feel BIG. The proof is in these pictures!

Officially a Grown-Up

Today was pretty exciting for me and Noah. We closed on our very first house! The whole process freaked me out at first but it went so smooth and closing today was pretty painless. I am thankful for everyone that helped us throughout. I really feel like a grown-up. The best feeling was being handed the keys.

We still won't be moving into the house for another week though because we want to get stuff taken care of before any furniture is moved in. We took some small things over to the house tonight to try to get a head start. I feel bad I won't be able to help Noah move and paint. Okay, I'm lying. What a great time to use the pregnant card :) We picked out paint last Sunday and we are planning on moving in by the first week of December. It will be nice to have the fence put up, the walls painted, the speakers wired, and the DirecTV installed before we move in.
I took tomorrow and wednesday off so I could start shopping for little things for the house. I can't wait. I plan on hitting all the places Noah hates taking me to on the weekends (Homegoods, TJ Maxx, Burlington Coat Factory, Kirklands...).
Now I'm going to get my beauty rest and mentally prepare myself for all the shopping I'm going to be doing tomorrow.
Goodnight all :)

R.I.P. UGA VII

Our beloved mascot passed away here in Savannah today of a sudden heart attack at only 4 years old. How devastating! This is not just any dog people. This is OUR mascot, OUR DAWG! Our team will have to play this weekend without our beloved mascot. I hope they win this weekend for sweet UGA. So sad.

So What's It Going To Be---Take 2

Well tomorrow is take 2 for the big ultrasound that will tell us what we're going to be having. This week has gone by so slow. My appointment is at 8:30 in the morning at least. I think I'm the first patient for the u/s tech so that is good because I've been waiting long enough I think. I know I'll be restless tonight just thinking about the baby. I mean it's not going to really matter but it has been the strangest feeling not knowing what I'm carrying. I feel like out of all my pregnant friends (something must be in the water) I'm the last one to find out too. So far Cassie is having a girl (Riley) and Deena found out this week she's having a boy (I'm so happy for her!!!) I have had no telling dreams or strong feelings. Most people that have made a guess have said they think we're having a boy. But who knows. I guess we'll see tomorrow. Stay tuned! I'm so excited!

House Update and Another Sweet Surprise!

Today Noah and I had our preliminary walk-through of our house. They painted the door and put up our shutters finally. All of our appliances are in too! There are only some minor paint touch-ups and I think we'll be good to go for closing on Monday. We will be signing our lives away and then they will be handing us our keys to our very first house!!! We have so much we have to get done though before we can actually move in. We hired someone to put a fence in, install our blinds, install our surround sound system, and hook our DirecTV up. My big task this weekend is to pick out paint colors. I think I have them narrowed down except for the nursery of course. It will be much easier to decide on the nursery paint color after our doctor's appointment on Friday.

(This is as close to the finished product as it's going to look!)

On another note...I received another present from the new baby welcome wagon today :) This time it was some cute rattle booties!!!

Thank you to whoever this is from and I can't wait to find out who you are!!!!

20 weeks

My goodness, the baby is as big as a cantaloupe???

I can't believe I am already at 20 weeks. I was so anxious to get past the first trimester to ease my worrying mind. Back at 6 weeks I didn't think time was going by fast enough. Now time is really flying by. Part of me is sad because I really have enjoyed my pregnancy so far and part of me is excited because it is one more week closer to meeting this little one inside my belly!

I've been feeling so much movement this week. And the biggest thing for me this week was feeling and seeing the baby move from outside my belly. It was the coolest thing. I've already had this thing with rubbing my belly or just resting my hand there just in case the baby moves. I also have been sitting on the couch with my belly hanging out and sleeping the same way too. I know it probably sounds weird but it makes me feel closer to the baby. Anyways, last week I was just laying on the couch resting my hand on my belly (Oh yeah, and I stare at my exposed belly alot too) and all of a sudden I felt a little bump. I looked down to see if would happen again and bump!! It was so cool. Noah even felt it that night. He thinks I'm making most of the movement up but I had solid proof this time! It was awesome.

And to make this week even better, last night when we got home from Virginia, there was another package delivered to us from the New Baby Welcome Wagon!

This time we got washcloths! It's still a mystery as to who is sending us these gifts though. It drives me nuts because I want to know. Hopefully it will reveal itself in time. I love surprises :)

Elizabeth J. Hunt

Elizabeth J. Hunt
7/14/22 - 11/09/09

Today we got the news Noah's grandma passed away. We are planning to drive up to Virginia this weekend to be with his family. May she be at peace in heaven. Please keep Noah's family in your thoughts and prayers.

House Bump

I have also been taking "house bump" shots as our house is being built. We only have a couple of weeks left so Noah and I are excited! November is an awesome month. On the 20th we have a doctor's appointment to find out if we are having a boy or a girl and then on the 23rd we close on our house.

August 11, 2009
This is how it all started. Well, it was a pile of dirt, but I never took a picture of that. This is the beginnings of our humble abode.

August 28, 2009

In a matter of weeks the frame was put up. That was so fast!

September 29, 2009

The siding was up here and the brick was next.

October 3, 2009
And just like that the brick was done.
October 16, 2009
ooo the startings of a drive way :)
November 7, 2009
Oh man, just look at that! Beautiful!!

Belly Bump

I have been taking belly bump shots from the beginning of my pregnancy. I want to see how my belly changes with my pregnancy. It still blows my mind what is happening inside my belly. Even as I am sitting here I keep feeling these tiny flutters. It is really hard to describe but I'm loving every moment of this journey; the bad morning sickness that lasted about a good 6 weeks straight to listening to the baby's heartbeat for the very first time. It is just absolutely the most wonderful experience. But I digress. Enjoy the belly shots :)

6 weeks

8 weeks

11 weeks

13 weeks

15 weeks

17 weeks

19 weeks

I can't really tell a difference in the first few weeks but definitely see and feel a difference in the last couple of weeks. There are more belly shots to come so stay tuned :)

For those of you who read my blog, Thanks :)

19 Weeks

Yummy Mango!

How far along? 19weeks, 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: Gained 5 lbs, 6 altogether now.
Maternity clothes? Bought some last weekend; pair of work pants and couple of shirts.
Stretch marks? still none and praying everyday they won't ever appear

Sleep: Never had too much of a problem with sleep pregnant or not. I could fall asleep anywhere and anytime.

Best moment this week: I had to go the doctor to get my H1N1 shot (that part was not the best moment this week) and when I was there I got to listen to the beautiful sound that is the baby's heartbeat. :)

Movement: Feeling slight flutters like a butterfly trying to get out of my belly. I feel it mostly when I am just sitting really still.
Food cravings: junk food and fruit

Gender: thought i would have found out at our last doctor's appointment but the u/s tech still couldn't be certain. grrrr. now waiting impatiently for 14 more days.
What I miss: okay I cheated. I've had an ice cold Coke. (but don't tell Noah, he'll get so mad)

What I’m looking forward to: finally finding out what we are having

I was going to post some belly shots from the very beginning of my pregnancy til now, but I'm on my dad's computer and my pictures aren't on here. But here is one I took today before I went to dinner for Seal's birthday. My belly has really grown in the last two weeks.

Happy Birthday Seal!

Today my sister turned the big 3-0! I went out to dinner with her earlier this evening before they went bar hopping. Of course I wasn't able to join them so I'm catching up on my blog instead. I'm sure Noah will be stumbling in the house in the wee hours of the morning. Here are some fun b-day shots. I know Seal is going to be pukey pukey later... Hope she has a great time out with all her friends!

(So many people came out for her b-day. She's so loved!)

Halloween Fun

Just some fun pics from Camille's birthday party...

New Baby Welcome Wagon

Well, last Friday's appointment was not the big day we were hoping for. The ultrasound tech wasn't able to see the goods. I have to now wait 3 weeks!!! However, the good news is the baby is healthy :) I also gained 4 lbs. I was starting to get worried because until then I wasn't gaining any weight.

My friend Cassie, who is also pregnant, was a bit luckier than Noah and I. She had an appointment yesterday and found out she's having a girl! I am so excited for her and Thomas! I am also so thrilled we get to go through our first pregnancy together :)

Today I came home to a sweet surprise in the mail. The package was addressed to Noah and I and the envelope was from "New Baby Welcome Wagon". I opened it up and found three cute beanies and a letter. I am not sure who the gift is from but I think it is such a cute and thoughtful gesture. My only clue to who it would be is on the stamp. It was sent from a Bloomingdale zipcode. Hmmmm... I can't recall anyone I know living in Bloomingdale??? Well I'm really excited for all the surprises to come each month. Whoever you are, thank you!!!!

( If you can't read it this is what the letter said:

We heard the news--a Baby is due!!!

Knowing that your life will never be the same again is both the most awe-inspiring and most wonderful thing.

To let you know how happy we are for you, a little something will be sent your way each month till the wonderful day...

Being a little behind, we'll play catch up, so check your mail! ) So sweet Right???

I feel loved!
